My lessons with Jane have been an enormous help to my French as now I understand the grammar and the verbs much better and feel more confident in using them. I now enjoy French and so am going to continue to take it at AS level after getting an excellent result at GSCE level, A*. She has good structure to the lessons and knows the areas I need to focus on to improve my marks.

I have been attending Jane’s French conversation classes for the past few years. In particular, during the last two years, a small group has met at Jane’s house to discuss a huge variety of topics.
Jane’s lessons are always very well prepared, and although the emphasis in these classes is conversation, she always ensures that we are well grounded in grammar.
I feel that I have learned a great deal of contemporary French during this time and have improved my conversational skills enormously.

I studied French with Jane for two years and I can recommend her unreservedly. She has a friendly approach and the lessons were always interesting. I particularly enjoyed our discussions concerning politics, economics, history and the people and country of France; these were much more fun than the dry and dusty classes that I remember from my schooldays! My aim was to gain enough fluency to have reasonable conversations when I visited the country, and I was pleased to be able to communicate effectively when on my travels. Jane has high standards which will stand you in good stead – and give the support and encouragement you need to achieve your ambitions.
I have been having French lessons with Jane for around 6 months now and it has been great! I am moving to France shortly and wanted to brush up my high school French, and develop sufficient skills to help me get by in day-to-day life.
Jane has been a very good teacher – very friendly with well-structured lessons. She has supplemented textbook learning with plenty of listening and speaking, to make sure there is good variety in each lesson. She has also provided me with a strong grounding in grammar and writing, which will stand me in good stead for the future. I still have a lot to learn, but I feel much more confident in embarking on my French adventure now!
